Common mistakes when beginning workout regimen

Being eager and motivated is great. With eagerness, a lot mistakes can be made. Many people tend to jump in head first. I always suggest that a person should make sure they take a tour of the gym facility before their first workout. Take the tour with a knowledgeable employee. Someone that can explain how each machine works and what it is for. This step will allow you to come up with a strategy or plan for your workouts.

Mistake #2: Focusing on what others are doing in the gym

When you’re new to working out, most of us look for guidance. But instead of asking questions, we tend to watch others and mimic what they do. This is a huge mistake. It can also be dangerous. You should know your limits. Your goals may be totally different from that person’s goals. Ask for pointers.

Mistake #3: Not having a plan

To be successful at anything in life, there must be a strategy or plan set in place. You can’t just wing it and expect to get great results. Take the time out to research, and figure out the best route to take. Continue to ask questions, and actually listen to the advice that is given to you.
